Try dinghy racing at Bardowie loch, using club boats or bring your own. Racing is a great way to develop your sailing skills, with friendly and exciting competition.
Come along on Tuesday evenings during the season for race training. There are three sets of races organized on Thursday evenings: the Spring, Summer and Autumn Series. We sometimes also have a Winter Series on Sunday afternoons if you are keen.
For 2025 the dates are:
- Spring series - 17 April to 29 May (7 weeks)
- Summer series - 5 June to 24 July (8 weeks)
- Autumn series - 31 July to 11 September (7 weeks)
Participants should make themselves familiar with the general race instructions and the specific 'Notice of Race' for each series. Ask to be added to the dedicated WhatsApp group for the latest racing updates.
Other racing events going on during the year typically include:
- Club Regatta – a chance for all members to race, with multiple categories for different ages and abilities
- Solo Traveller – the Scottish Solo Traveller Series holds an annual fixture at Bardowie
- Junior Traveller - the Scottish Junior Traveller visits Bardowie for a weekend
- Duncan’s Regatta – a weekend set of races held as part of the Sailability Scotland Traveller Series, and sponsored by Duncan’s Yacht Chandlers
- Laird Trophy – teams of two sailors from Scottish secondary schools compete at Bardowie using our fleet of Fevas
- Brazill Trophy – the Bardowie cadets challenge the flag officers each year to see who really knows how to sail
