Sailing is a sport which anyone can take part in and enjoy, whatever age they may be or whatever their abilities.
We offer training to children from 8 years old, but younger children are welcome with their families to our open days or arranged events, so they can get a sense of what sailing is like.
Our specially trained instructors are happy to work with charities that are dedicated to children and adults with disabilities or disadvantages to tailor a sailing introduction that is right for them. We also work with some local schools. Our commitment is shown by our membership of the following programmes:
There is a wide range of boats at Bardowie, including Challenger trimarans and Hansa 303 access dinghies that are ideal for disabled sailors. The clubhouse also has disabled access and facilities.
Each year there is racing for disabled sailors, including Duncan’s Regatta.
Some of our members have gone on to medal-winning success, including Rory McKinna who you can read about here and here.
So sailing can be for you.
