Sailing At Bardowie near Milngavie, Scotland

Welcome

Welcome to Bardowie Loch, home to the Clyde Cruising Club Dinghy Section.

Bardowie has a well-deserved reputation as a family friendly club, with training approved by the Royal Yachting Association. Throughout the season there are activities such as open days, club regattas and class regattas.

If you would like to learn to sail, we have evening classes available to children and adults during the weekday evenings covering beginners through to budding racers. In the summer holidays why not sign up for sailing lessons and fun at summer school.

Once you are capable of sailing independently (RYA NSS2 / YSS3), go dinghy sailing using club boats or your own, with a steward onsite at specific times to help. We have a boat park that members can apply to use.

The club is run on a volunteer basis rather than as a commercial centre so the cost of courses are very competitive. We expect members to help where they can so sailing can be enjoyed by everyone.

I first sailed round Bardowie Loch single-handed then became more ambitious and did the same thing round the world.
